First, thank you all for praying for me so diligently. I felt the prayers and had such peace. Y'all are all so amazing. It's nice to have friends who will carry you down the street and rip a hole in the roof and lay you before the Savior. Thank you.

Surgery went well. When the surgeon came in before surgery to sign the hand he was going to work on, i asked some more questions and am I glad I did! He does this surgery a little differently. He still took the trapezium bone out of my hand but instead of splitting the tendon in my hand or forearm he used a little tendon at the base of my thumb and made a little sling for the base of my thumb to sit in. much less trauma to the hand and possibly an easier healing. Once the nerve block wears off, i will have full use of my fingers. My thumb still has to heal but I don't have to worry about my index finger healing or being able to straighten out.

I want to give the glory to God for leading me and guiding me on this journey. God brought me to Dr Lopez and I am so thankful I listened. It took me awhile to be okay with this surgery and I was really disappointed when I couldn't have the disc implant, which is what I wanted. I was even arrogant enough to tell God for months I wasn't having the LRTI surgery. His ways are not my ways and His thoughts are not my thoughts.

I feel incredibly handicapped right now, more so than the last time i had hand surgery. I think it is because of the nerve block and not being able to move my fingers. Thankfully, I'm not really in any pain, just some mild discomfort.
