Some clients want to spend their marketing dollars on television. Some think social media is the best way to reach people. Others want radio or outdoor or (gasp) print. But sometimes you get more for those dollars by spending them in places that may not be as flashy, but are impossible to miss. Who's up for knocking out some incisors?

In March, 2015, the place I loved to work shut its doors and the talented people I loved to work with scattered off to other agencies or other cities. I was one of the last to walk out the door and watched as it locked behind me, closing the chapter on 15 great years with lots of great friends and clients. For all of us in those last days, there was a lot of talk of what would be next. For myself, I thought I would take a shot at doing my own thing and seeing if I could maybe make that work. I gave myself six months. And here we are, six years later, still doing that thing. I'm amazed every day that I get to do this. Amazed in the clients who have trusted me with their brands, blown away by the support of friends, partners, family and my wife, who is and has always been my biggest cheerleader, supporter, believer and advisor. Thank you to everyone who has inspired me, taught me, encouraged and trusted me. When I asked my good friend Matt Hildebrand to provide an updated toddopolis logo with the 6th year cupcake in place, he sent four - 6, 7, 8 and 9. I thanked him for being so optimistic. I thank you all for being so amazing to work with.

I'm never a fan of stores putting up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving or, worse yet, Halloween. But if you're going to have an early Christmas sale in October, at least take a little tip from IKEA and announce it with some creativity and style.
