Butler REAP

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to Butler REAP (Robotics, Engineering, & Art Program). We are a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization whose mission is to teach kids teamwork and STEAM skills through competitive robotics. We have competed in FIRST LEGO League, and are currently competing in FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC #32563).

We are looking to add new team members (ages 13-16). The kids are responsible for robot design (using CAD), robot building (including 3D printed parts), coding (using Blocks and Java), community involvement, social media, and documentation and presentation of their work. Kids do not need experience in all areas, just be willing to learn. Specifically we are currently looking for someone who enjoys graphic design and social media.

We also have fun activities together, such as regular D&D sessions.

We meet twice a week, but expect more days as we get into competition season. Dues are $80 every two months, but I am hoping to reduce/eliminate that with grants and fundraising.

And so our 2025-26 FIRST Tech Challenge season has come to a close. I am so proud of these kids. In their rookie year they made it to the finals and became an Alliance Captain in our qualifiers. The basically started from scratch with a new robot in the last month, and learned and tried to implement multiple techniques and telemetry. Whether winning or losing they kept their heads up and learned something new every match. They all had great attitudes throughout a long, challenging day. I can’t wait for our next stage. And thank you ftc_brainstem_22312 for accepting our Alliance invitation!

Doors open at 8, competition starts at 9, and they expect to be wrapped up by 1. Please show up as close to 8 as you can.
