I remember when my first book came out right after I left my family business. I felt in my heart that it was a brand-new beginning and I knew that I wanted to share in a big big way...but I was still dealing with feelings of unworthiness and imposter syndrome. I also realized that if I wanted to share my books message as well as continue to share in new ways going forward, I needed to overcome my fear of speaking and work on my lack of self-acceptance.

So I began the journey of stepping into my fears. Among the things I did in 2009 to overcome my fear of speaking was to sign up for Toastmasters (which I did for a year), participated in two community college speech classes, hired a co-host for an internet radio show, created an interactive workshop based around my book and signed up for an acting class. Each step uncomfortable, yet also very affirming. I began to truly feel alive and gain confidence each step of the way. I stepped into my fears which have allowed me to step into and realize many of my dreams.

It was two years ago today that my younger brother transitioned and I made a little trip to his memorial bench to say hello. It’s such a beautiful spot. He would definitely appreciate it 🫶🏻☀️🙏
