This is Marc and I’m down with the worst flu I can remember. This has to happen at a time when I’m already behind. Great. I think I’m on 4 or 5 now. Please be patient with me.

A sniper instructor customer asked to have his take off barrel cut away to show the insides of each end so I thought I’d share. It isn’t something that most users get to see very often.

The .375 Cheytac Victrix build we posted earlier is out in the wild. Initial load work up is amazing with Berger 410’s at 2,950. Weight with loaded magazine is 31 lbs.

I’ve cut quite a few Cheytac barrels but never for this action before. It’s from an Italian company named Victrix Armaments and I was impressed by it. I put a short action Defiance and 6.5 CM cartridge next to it for comparison. The last picture is a quick barrel tenon sketch I free handed for my files but I thought others might find it useful. Obviously your barrel shop will be responsible for confirming measurements. The barreled action is 4’ long and weighs 19 lbs.

Switching personal parts around once again! I mixed up some from my hunting rifle and some from my NEL comp gun. I think I’ll settle on this for my elk hunt without anymore changes. It’ll be the first time I’ve ever hunted with a chassis. After competing with KRG’s for a few years they’ve become very comfortable for me. They’re all I want to shoot right now.

Defiance Rebel
24” Bartlein #4 barrel 300 WSM
KRG Whiskey 3 Pro
Silencerco ScytheTi
Geisselle Super 700 two stage trigger
S&B 4-16 PMII in Seekins rings

It shoots Berger 185 VLD hunters at 3,010 fps with sub half moa average. This barreled action has been in more different stocks and chassis than I can remember and it’s been loaned out to a half dozen friends and customers over the years. I’ve personally used it to kill two moose in AK, some deer, multiple pigs, an Oryx in NM, maybe 3 elk, just about everything. The load I’m running in it right now performs better than anything else I’ve ever fed it. Season opens 10/1 so I’m getting fired up.
