🚔 Today we’re celebrating Officer Mark Meyer, our incredible Calhan SRO! From keeping our schools safe to building strong relationships with students and staff, we’re so grateful for all he does.

When he’s not on duty, you’ll find Officer Meyer hunting, fishing, camping, or spending time with his horses. 🐎 His soundtrack of choice is “Daydream Cowboy” by Chris LeDoux. 🤠 His favorite movie is the classic Hondo with John Wayne.

⭐ Fun fact: Officer Meyer once served as a Camp David White House Marine before volunteering for Desert Storm — talk about dedication and service! 🇺🇸

Great job to our local fire department!

Fire destroys southern Colorado kennel, owners raise money for volunteer firefighters who saved dozens of dogs A late night fire destroyed a dog kennel in Calhan, killing one dog and leaving another in critical condition. Quick action by employees and volunteer firefighters saved 30 others. Instead of rebuilding first, the owners are now raising money to thank the volunteer fire departments who responded.
