Just a few highlights from our first meet of the season!

This past Tuesday our athletes were able to “Go the Distance” in Dalton’s 3rd Annual Go the Dalton Distance race at Haig Mill Lake Park! This was a trail run which was a new experience for many of our runners. It was a unique race because the kids got to compete by grade level.

Our standout Athletes were:

6th Grade top 10 Finishers:
-5th Place Cece Kolterman🎉
-8th Place Azariah Buske 🎉
-7th Place Daniel Fraire 🎉
-10th Plave Landon Siburkis 🎉

8th Grade top 10 Finishers:
-Eva Hawkins 9th Place🎉
-Jayleigh Brooks 10th Place 🎉

Our 6th Grade Girls Team finished 🥉 Overall!

This past Saturday our XC Team got to experience running in the mud for the first time! Saturday was a very wet, rainy day, but our Athletes rose to the challenge and did a great job running at Armuchee’s 2021 Trail Run!

🎉The following Athletes set new PRs:

-Sheila Ramirez: 21’52”(shaved 1min 3sec off)
-Ella Grace Padgett: 19’27”(shaved 1min off)
-Jackson Gaither: 18’38”(shaved 2sec off)
-Edgar Valencia: 20’49”(shaved 2sec off)

Cece Kolterman came in 8th overall for the Girls! 🎉🎉🎉

Yesterday the AMS XC Team competed in the annual Gordon County Skirmish. 2️⃣3️⃣ of our athlete’s got their best time so far this season! The Girl’s Team finished🥈overall!

Julie Jacobo set a new PR for herself (20’ 57”)! This is a huge accomplishment for the first meet of the season and we are beyond proud of her!
