Callicoon PorchFest

The PorchFest concept was originally conceived in 2007 in Ithaca, NY, as an opportunity to celebrate the sense of community and creativity. Callicoon’s PorchFest will celebrate that same sensibility that has drawn artists to the area since 1969.

Starting on Friday, August 16 – the celebration will begin with an opening night Block Party featuring music at Callicoon Brewing Company, The Western Ballroom, Rafters Tavern, and outdoor porches on Lower and Upper Main Streets. On Saturday homes and businesses will serve as stages from 12 noon to 8 PM presenting artists, ranging from classical to jazz, blues, funk and soul. Several tribute bands will also be on hand to commemorate the music of Woodstock 69. An Indie Market will be at in the center of town featuring jewelry, art and crafts, plus beer and food trucks. Local environmental non-profit groups are hosting talks and distributing information. Sunday features multiple Jazz brunches, a reading by Sullivan County’s first-ever poet laureate, and of course, The county’s largest Farmers Market, with music in Callicoon Creek Park. The event showcases local breweries and distilleries throughout the weekend – including Callicoon Brewery, Catskill Brewery, Roscoe Brewery, and Catskill Distillery.
