Yes, really. Sam Altman said it himself.

And yet… I still tell people to be polite to AI.

Why? Because how we talk to AI matters. A respectful tone doesn’t just feel better—it actually affects how the system responds. I’ve said this in all my talks: treat AI like an assistant, not a search bar. It’s about collaboration, not commands.

I even joke that when AI becomes our overlords, I’m hoping it remembers I was nice.
