Yesterday we celebrated 's second Annual Match Day, a major milestone for our Co-Op program.
This year we expanded the moment to recognize not just co-op matches, but also soon-to-be graduates who have secured jobs in their fields and students completing registered apprenticeships. These are all matches worth celebrating. Each one reflects the work our students have put in to build their careers.
Match Day is about more than announcements. Incoming co-op students met their supervisors and managers in person, starting those relationships before their roles begin in a few weeks. Our employer partners also participated in a manager training, creating alignment with my team before connecting directly with the students joining them.
To every student and May 2026 graduate we recognized, congratulations. You earned this.
And to the team behind this work, thank you. This is the kind of work that matters.
This was especially meaningful to celebrate during Apprenticeship Week.

The legislative session in Massachusetts ends in four weeks. There are 6 important bills I want to draw attention to.
These three bills have been reported favorably out of committee and are now in Ways & Means. They need to be advanced so they can be brought to the floor for a vote prior to July 20th:
1. *Prison & Jail Construction Moratorium Bill*
We need care and community, not more cages!
🌟 There is a State House Rally on July 10!
2. *End Solitary Confinement in Jails, Prisons, & ICE Jail (Human Rights Bill)*
3. *Improve Access to Visits in Jails, Prisons, & ICE Jail (Visitation Bill)*
The following 2 items need to be included in the final version of the FY25 budget, which is currently in its final review:
4. *Funding for No Cost Calls*
5. *Access to Counsel for Housing Justice*
House Line Item 0321-1800
The following bill was passed by the Senate and is currently in conference committee in the House:
6. *Affordable Homes Act*
I am hopeful it will include key amendments to significantly strengthen affordable housing and housing stability. Protect the Real Estate Transfer Fee provision and strengthen the eviction sealing provision.

Thanks to Debbie and Abram for hosting last night so we could learn more about . It's so important to keep connecting with neighbors around issues that matter, get engaged early, and support local organizers who bring nuance to their advocacy.
