Today we will be highlighting William Augustus Hinton.
Hinton was born in Chicago in 1883. He ended up going to Harvard Medical College in 1912 on the Wigglesworth scholarship. He went on after graduating earl6 to work for various public health related labs. In 1936 he published a text book about Syphilis and its treatment. Eventually he became the first black person to be a professor at Harvard!

In honor of the last week of February, Black History Month, we will be highlighting some highly influential Black American Scientists!
Today we will highlight Patricia Era Bath!
Bath was born in 1942 in Harlem, NY. She became interested in science at an early age and would eventually become the first Black female medical professional to earn a medical patent for her Laserphaco Probe, used for catatact treatment.
