On July 7, Forrester celebrated its 40th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, we released a Forrester timeline to capture some of the best, brightest, and also some of the most trying times of our 40 years in business.
The timeline shows our humble beginnings, starting in 1983 when George Forrester Colony opened our first “headquarters” in the basement of his Cambridge apartment; looks into impactful moments such as the release of our first Customer Experience Index (CX Index™) report in 2007; and finally leads up to this month’s clarion call for companies to explore generative AI, predicting its widespread transformational impact.
Forrester has grown its influence by guiding companies through era-defining shifts. Click the link in our bio to see more pivotal moments along our four-decade journey. https://forr.com/3Ok13u2

At Forrester, we prioritize work that has an influence and impact on communities and citizens worldwide.
From storm warnings to protecting fisheries, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration provides services and data to assist US residents in need. When the President called to accelerate customer experience (CX) and racial equity initiatives to put US residents at the center of operations, with a particular emphasis on underserved communities, NOAA answered the call. The agency tapped Forrester to be its strategic partner for a CX transformation effort that resulted in more effective and equitable service delivery.
Two years later with a newly transformed CX portal, NOAA continues to respond to the president’s call for improved CX and equitable delivery by leveraging its partnership with Forrester to generate a steady drumbeat of improvement.

The name Bill Bluestein resonates loudly at Forrester. An analyst who later became Forrester’s first president, Bill died unexpectedly in 2001, at just 44. Yet Bill's leadership and research left an indelible mark, and for the past 22 years, the company’s most prestigious research honor has borne his name.
The Bill Bluestein award is given each year to an analyst whose work is provocative and courageous, that inspires clients and guides their decisions to be great.
Earlier this year, the award was given to VP and Principal Analyst Brandon Purcell, whose research focuses on customer analytics and AI — particularly, responsible AI.

“Examine your values. Do you love collaboration? Do you value trust? Do you see the value of having a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture? Do you want to do work that breaks away from the status quo?” If you answered yes, VP and Principal Analyst Jinan Budge says you may want to consider a job as a Forrester analyst.

What do a Forrester Security & Risk analyst and a Business Development Rep have in common?
Passion, ingenuity, and customer obsession.
❇️ Allie Mellen (Sr. Analyst, Security & Risk) ❇️
Allie joined the S&R team to help define XDR (extended detection and response). She spent her first year conducting interviews and research to publish the first Forrester New Wave report to help clients evaluate XDR vendor capabilities.
As a result of her bold and customer-first approach, Allie gained the trust of clients who were unsure in a new market, receiving Forrester’s Courage award.
In Allie’s own words: “It has been very transformative. I have never had my ambition and my drive so celebrated as I have at Forrester.”
❇️ Ilda Prifti (BDR, Events) ❇️
With an ever-changing selling landscape and increasing business challenges, Ilda knew it was time to try something new to help connect prospective sponsors to Forrester Events.
Her solution was to build a VIP sponsor program at Forrester’s 2022 North America events. The program connected prospective sponsors with Forrester analysts and event team members in an intimate setting to learn about the value Forrester events can bring to sponsors. It was a great example of the ecosystem working together.
Ilda credits Events leadership and colleagues for giving her the freedom and trust to bring this program to life.
“Forrester is a great place to learn, to grow within your position, and to get motivated by your peers.”
