Proudly serving the youth, families, and seniors of our community for the last 90+ years - and counting! EST. 1929 | Cambridge, Massachusetts

This week, we’re celebrating the 5 year anniversary of our Food & Supply Pantry program! The pantry began as an emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020, a week after our youth programs had shut down.

Many of the volunteers who help us run the pantry today are former patrons who we first while they were waiting in line for food. The folks you see in these pictures, both young and old, are now veterans of our service — they’re the ones who make it possible for us to redistribute over 1 million pounds of food, 500,000 diapers, and 100,000 period products annually.

Because of this strong team of community members, we are confident and prepared to face whatever challenges may come next. This does not mean it will be easy — our access to food and supplies is currently being threatened by federal as well as state level budget cuts. But we are confident that, with your help, we can continue building community together — something we’ve been doing here at CCC since 1929.

From Shirley Chisholm to Saundra Graham, CCC has a long history of centering the voices of women leaders, even when the rest of the country isn’t ready to listen.

At the end of this challenging year, we’re building on that tradition with our 4th annual Sisters of the Center Brunch, which celebrates the underrecognized work of women who have done so much for this community.

This year, we will be giving awards to Evette M Layne and Corinne Espinoza for their decades-long dedication to CCC. We will also be posthumously presenting the Center’s highest honor, the Reverend E.K. Nichols award, to Erin Gullage.

Join us in honoring the work of these incredible women by attending the awards ceremony on December 7th. We will have a full brunch service catered by our friends at Summer Shack as well as live musical performances from Tim Hall and more.
