How it all began...
Well over a decade ago, Scott and Lori Gilbert, along with Lori's mother, Mary Smith, started making candles, soaps and bath & body products for friends and family. People enjoyed their products -- and Scott, Lori and Mary enjoyed making them so much -- that they decided to turn their passion into a business.
Clear Spring Candles & Soaps was launched as a limited liability company (LLC) in February, 2004, and quickly became a frequent presence at craft shows across central Pennsylvania. The business grew quickly through word-of-mouth advertising, with a steadily-growing loyal customer base consisting of individuals, businesses and other organizations across central Pennsylvania -- and beyond.
In 2011, the name of the business changed to Clear Spring Candles to reflect the company's shift in emphasis away from the regular production of soaps and bath & body products. However, many of those products are still available today by special order.
Our candles are available for retail and wholesale purchase, fundraisers, and as wedding and shower favors.
