We are excited to announce that we have added Steven B. Resnikoff, attorney, to our staff as ERISA Counsel. Steve will oversee plan document services and consult with our plan sponsors on matters affecting their qualified retirement plans. He brings over 28 years of experience inside third party administration companies working with over 1,000 plans during his career.

The IRS recently announced the new limits for 2014 --the number most people are interested in is the 401(k) deferral limit (code section 402g)--which remained at $17,500 (with the catch-up limit still @ $5,500).

Glad to see the DOL provided relief for 404(a)(5) notices so that participant level fee disclosure notices can be provided at the same time as other year-end notices (in FAB 2013-02). We had sent our plan sponsors an email that we would not be providing notices this August as we provided notices again last November in attempt to get on an annual cycle. Every once in a while the DOL uses common sense when it comes to administrative issues!

We are now in the age of disclosure overload for our plan sponsors and participants--based upon feedback from meetings over the course of this year we are working on a project to help our clients better stay in compliance when it comes to timely distributing all of their notices..stay tuned as we aim to be one of the first firms if not the first firm in our area to provide much needed plan level--customized guidance.....

Before the tax season gets too crazy PRSI is pleased to announce that we are MOVING into a larger space in our existing building, upstairs, into suite 204 effective 1/17/2012.......this space is much larger so that we not only can sit newer employees but have some room for expected growth. We appreciate the continued support of our advisers and clients and look forward to a great 2012!

We are excited to announce that on 11/30/11 Summer Smith, QKA joined PRSI as a Plan Consultant. During her career Summer has worked for Cascade Pension Services and National Associates. Since she lives out in the sticks where there are likely more animals than people, she will often be the first one in the office to avoid traffic.
