Rows, colors, textures. Flower seed farming becomes abstract art from the air.

One of Portland's most iconic pieces of public art is the 70-foot tall "Attitude of Gratitude" mural. Created by internationally known muralist Fin DAC, this five-story artwork depicts a woman with her hands clasped in gratitude and a bird resting on her shoulder. What makes it truly unique is her "hair," which consists of more than 1,000 living plants, changes with the seasons.

I'd been wanting to see this mural in person for several years but hadn't been able to until today.

I love how this mural is never exactly the same twice. As the plants grow and change throughout the year, the mural itself evolves, making it unique every time you see it.
