Today, we just want to say thank you.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person who donated toward repairing our rescue van. Because of your generosity, we’re able to keep going—to keep saying “yes” to dogs who have nowhere else to turn.

Unfortunately, we had to repair the A/C again, but thanks to your support, we were able to get it taken care of. In the Texas heat, air conditioning isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity for the safety of our dogs and our volunteers during transports.

Running a rescue is far more expensive than most people realize. Every day brings another expense: veterinary care, medications, dog food, fuel, vehicle maintenance, cleaning supplies, building repairs, and emergency medical cases. The bills never stop, but neither do the dogs who need help.

We want you to know that not a single dollar goes to waste. Every donation, no matter the amount, is used carefully and intentionally to save lives. Whether it’s fixing the rescue van, filling empty food bowls, paying a vet bill, or transporting a dog to their forever home, your kindness makes it possible.

Sometimes rescue is filled with the happiest moments… and sometimes those moments come with heartbreaking setbacks. 💔🐾

On Sunday, our hearts were so full.

After months of waiting, hoping, and dreaming, three of our Baker Dozen babies finally left for their forever homes in Oklahoma. There are few feelings in this world that compare to watching dogs who have overcome so much finally find the families they deserve.

We cried happy tears as we watched them leave, knowing their lives had changed forever.

We never imagined the journey home would become one of the longest nights we’ve had in a while.

Around 8:00 PM, with still two hours left before we reached home, our rescue van suffered a tire blowout. We sat stranded on the side of the highway for over two hours, waiting for someone to come help. Finally, around 10:30 PM, we were back on the road.

We thought we were finally headed home.

Then, just 45 minutes later, at 11:15 PM in Terrell, Texas… another tire exploded.

Another roadside emergency.
Another delay.
Another unexpected expense.

By the time we finally made it home, our celebration had turned into a $600+ repair bill.

People often see the happy adoption photos, but they don’t always see everything that happens behind the scenes to get these dogs to their forever families.

Every mile we drive is for them.

Every rescue.
Every transport.
Every vet appointment.
Every adoption.

Our rescue van is the heartbeat of what we do. Without it, dogs don’t get to safety. They don’t make it to medical care. They don’t make it to the families waiting to love them.

We don’t like asking for help, but today we truly need it.
