What is an ALTA Survey?



An ALTA Survey is a 2-dimensional representation and description of a piece of real estate inclusive of its features, boundaries, any improvements, easements, encroachments, and encumbrances. An ALTA Survey also indicates adjoining roadways, property access points, adjoining property information, and can include zoning classifications and flood zone designations.

Today’s real estate investors rely on the American Land Title Association’s and the National Society of Professional Surveyor’s Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA Surveys so that their ownership can be insured by title companies and consequently protected from any possible survey related claims.
