Delivery Robots Hit College Campuses - The Food Institute 04/10/2025

Check out these cool food delivery robots delivering snacks across college campuses. Know what they need to work? Code!

When kids learn to code games, they’re also learning to power machines and solve real-world problems. Whether it’s guiding a robot through an obstacle course or coding a sensor to dodge LEGO bricks, our Ninjas are learning the skills that shape the future.

🤖✨ Welcome to Robotics Week ✨🤖

Let's kick off this amazing week dedicated to bots, brains, and brilliant kids who love them with some robotic fun facts:

🧬 The word “robot” comes from the Czech word robota which means forced labor or drudgery. In 1920, a playwright's brother suggested roboti as a new word for artificial workers. In the play, roboti were factory-made creatures, like synthetic people, that were super smart and super strong. Know where this is going? Yep! They rebelled.

🦾 The first real robot was built in 1954. Unimate was a robotic arm that worked on the GM assembly line, primarily doing tasks that were highly dangerous for people like moving hot pieces of metal.

🐄 Robots are everywhere today - and incredibly helpful! Heard of Lely Astronaut? It's a robotic milking system that lets cows choose when they want to be milked.

So here’s to National Robotics Week! Robots are cool, but kids who code them? Even cooler. Keep building, keep dreaming, and keep making the future awesome.

🖖To all the Trekkies out there—live long, code strong, and Happy First Contact Day! Today we celebrate the first contact between humans and Vulcans in 2063 -- a pretty cool day symbolizing the power of technology, exploration, and curiosity.

Even cooler: Star Trek was a blueprint for future tech!
📱 Touchscreens from Starfleet PADDs
🎙️ Alexa and Siri from the Starfleet Computer
🤖 Robotics from Lieutenant Commander Data
🛸AI Diagnostics from McCoy's medical tricorder

The possibilities for what today's ninjas will do by 2063 are truly limitless. Be ready, Vulcans!

To boldly code what no kid has coded before.
