Fireside Tax

We’re happy to share an update on Tim.

Tim successfully made it through surgery and is now in recovery. We are incredibly grateful for the continued prayers, support, and understanding from our Fireside family; it truly means more than we can express.

As Tim continues to heal, he will still need time to recover and reduce stress. For that reason, we will continue rescheduling his appointments and having our other qualified accountants step in to serve you. We sincerely thank everyone who has been flexible and allowed our team to assist with your tax, bookkeeping, and payroll needs.

Your patience and loyalty have been a tremendous blessing. We look forward to continuing to serve you and will share updates as appropriate. ❤️

We want to share an important update with our Fireside family.

Tim recently suffered a heart attack and will be undergoing a triple bypass surgery. While Tim is not one to ask for attention, we do ask that you please keep him and his family lifted up in prayer during this time. He will undergo a long recovery period.

Tim wants you to know how important Fireside is to him and how much he values each of you. Although he will not be able to prepare taxes this season, he has personally hand-selected a wonderful, experienced team to take care of your tax preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll needs. His goal has always been to keep Fireside going for the long term, and we have worked hard to ensure that vision is a reality.

All appointments previously scheduled with Tim are being rescheduled to be with Brandon (Our VP), Angelo, and the rest of our trusted team. We appreciate your understanding, loyalty, and continued support more than we can say.

Big Beautiful Bill myth on OT: There is a false rumor going around that union wages are not covered by the OT deduction. Here's the facts: The bill allows workers to deduct the OT premium mandated by law. That is time and a half. You are allowed to deduct the HALF. Now enter many union contracts which require DOUBLE TIME. You are still able to deduct the HALF required by law but not the additional wages required by the contract. Confused? Bring your W2 and last pay stub and we will figure it out with you.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
In prior years, Fireside Tax has offered Rapid Refunds (also known as Refund Anticipation Loans). This year, we will no longer be providing this service.

Simply put, Rapid Refunds are often not a good value, clients may pay hundreds of dollars on top of their preparation fees to receive their refund a short time sooner, rather than waiting approximately two weeks. Additionally, the program requires extensive compliance training and setup, and historically has been used for only a small number of returns.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. After careful consideration, this is no longer a service that makes sense for our firm.
