Sound on! Here’s one of the Eastern Gray Squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) currently in our Wildlife Rehabiltation Clinic. She is now in our outside pre-release enclosure, and you can see how wild she is. That’s what we love - she does not want anything to do with humans. Once she’s a little older, her and her companion will be ‘soft released’. That means the enclosure door will remain open during the day and it will be closed at night giving them a source of food and shelter. When they no longer return is our signal that they are making it on their own.
