June 28 ~ Thirteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time

The theme of hospitality runs through our readings this weekend. An anonymous woman in our first reading extended hospitality to the prophet and was rewarded for her generosity. Jesus reminds us that whoever welcomes/receives him, receives the One who sent him. When we attend Mass, do we do so with a heart that is open to hear God’s word and a willingness to act on what was heard? With this attention to hospitality, how might the stranger sitting near you in Church, or standing next to you in the grocery store experience your openness and welcome? Today we are encouraged to sincerely welcome Christ in those we meet. You may be surprised at how you are rewarded!
