I really need to get better with my social media posts. There’s a whole lot of good that happens around here, but it seems I only post the bad news. On January 10, 2024 at 11:30pm we discovered the garage attached to our apartment completely engulfed in flames. The fire quickly started consuming the walls and ceiling of the house. We had seconds to run out. We managed to save ourselves, the 2 dogs in the apartment, and the 4 horses stabled at the other end of the building. The barn and apartment are a total loss. We are missing 2 cats. All of our personal belongings are gone. The main barn stabling 16 horses was untouched. Our family, friends, and community have been amazing with their outpouring of help and support. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone. We can’t thank you enough. As we continue to have many people wanting to help, I thought it would be helpful to list what we lost.

The horse area was a private barn for the property owners. They lost everything. If you need it in the barn or put it on a horse, it’s gone. Buckets, trash cans, pitch forks, brooms, wheelbarrows, grooming supplies, saddles, bridles, etc. The horses are draft crosses and large stock types for a size reference.
If you have donations, we will set up a public meeting or a porch drop off. We are trying to keep traffic away from the barn due to the circumstances. Thank you so much for your understanding. And, again thank you so much for the help and support.
