Governor Newsom Visits Capitola Village

CA Governor GavinNewsom took time yesterday to visit Capitola and witness the storm damage in the Village. Governor Newsom met with City leadership to discuss possible aid while surveying the area.

City of Capitola is continuing to partner with local and regional resources in an effort to bring Capitola Village back to normal, if not better. Many of our Village businesses and restaurants are back open and ready to serve the community . Please show your support by continuing to shop and dine in the Village!!

Capitola Reef will be closed today, probably tomorrow and not sure for how long after that, depending on power being restored and clean up. So grateful for the City of Capitola’s Police dept for their commitment to safety and securing our village, to the City’s public works dept and maintenance crew for their tireless efforts in preparing for the storm and the daunting task of cleanup. Also a big shoutout to all who have expressed their concerns, prayers, and well wishes. God bless and hope to see you soon. Capitola Strong

Capitola Village businesses destroyed after ‘bomb cyclone’ Despite preparing as best they could for the 'bomb cyclone,' beachfront restaurants are severely destroyed—windows are blown out, walls are torn down, furniture is now beyond repair and extensive debris littered the flooded floors.
