This season I decided to take Tuesdays off. Not necessarily to have a day off, but to use the day to get ready for my week with zero interruptions. This particular Tuesday, I spent the day appreciating the FACT that Burger Boy isn’t going anywhere.

For starters, I’ll simply state that I’m a human being. Things happen in my life just as they do everyone else’s. The world is so unpredictable. Things happen suddenly, unexpectedly. We want to feel we are in control of our own lives. In some ways we are, in some ways we're not.

There are people who make things happen, there are people who watch things happen, and there are people who wonder what happened. I’ve always been the person to make things happen.

When faced with adversity I’ve always had the ability to successfully cope with difficult or challenging life experiences. I’ve been able to bounce back from setbacks, always tried to maintain my psychological well-being, and have tried to emerge stronger from all of my hardships. This situation will be no different.

When the problem arose, it was addressed. All parties were notified, (some moved quicker than others) and posts were made before the information became fact. Which led us up to where we were at the end of last week.

When a headline starts with “rumor has it” you really have to take it when a grain of salt, especially when they too didn’t have all the information. My failure to comment wasn’t out of avoidance, it was to not feed into the fact the this was trying to be portrayed as negative.

If the time ever comes where I decide I want to part ways with Burger Boy, I will do it on my own terms. We will continue to operate as normal and I can move past this and focus on my busy summer.

Thank you for the people who reached out to make sure I was okay rather than looking for information to feed into a particular narrative. Tonight I’ll get some sleep knowing that tomorrow I can go back to work doing what I love, with the people who support me.

On a different note, it was HOT today. It would be our luck that the biggest heat wave of the year fell on a day we weren’t opened. But we’ll have plenty of ice cream tomorrow!

I may have grown up without a Father, but I’m very thankful for the positive male influences and role models that I’ve had and continue to have in my life.

Being raised by a single mother, I watched first hand how difficult it was to play the roles of both parents. Today I want to wish EVERYONE, whether you’re a father, a mother playing both roles, grandparents taking on extra responsibility, a stepfather stepping up, an uncle, a cousin… whatever the role, whatever the relation, Happy Fathers day! ❤️

Thank you for being a positive influence in someone’s life, and thank you for all that you do! 🍔

Burger Boy will be open until 4 today so our staff can spend time with their families!

Congratulations to our County Graduates!

If I can give you any words of encouragement it is this:

“Life gets better after high school” False. Life gets better the moment you realize that you want a better life and you put forth the effort to get there.

Hug your friends tight today, this could be the last time you see some of them.

Be nice to your parents. For the last 18 years they’ve watched you grow up, have been there for everything and have seen you every singe day. Now they too have to watch you move on. Things are going to be tough for them. They are sad, they love you, and right now they might be a bit overbearing. Just remember that they are also preparing themselves for your next chapter.

Lastly, go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have always dreamed of. The last thing you want is to regret. You miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take.

Your life is a book, welcome to the next chapter.
