"Happy Thanksgiving" 🦃 That's both the name of this quilt and our wish for you!
Demonstrating that the sentiments of the holiday cross both cultures and borders, this piece was crafted by Japanese quilter Aki Sakai who spent two years in Ohio exploring U.S. culture.
In addition to the Thanksgiving theme, Aki showed some of the universality of our holiday's themes by incorporating a number of references to Japanese culture, including the folk tale of "Momotarō," a boy born from a peach. You can spot him near the bottom left corner of the quilt.
