Most people think being organized is about more storage, more folders, or the right app.

It isn't.

Every piece of information you keep creates responsibility. It takes time to store, maintain, review, and find later. So the question isn't where to put something. The question is whether it deserves to be kept at all, and how you'll find it when you need it.

That's what last week's PEPTalk! was about: 7 questions that help you decide with less second-guessing.

Do I really need to keep this?
In what format?
For how long?
Who is responsible for it?
Who needs access?
How will I find it?
How is it backed up?

If you have ever stood over a pile of paper or a full inbox and felt stuck, the problem usually isn't the pile.

It's the decisions waiting inside it.

On this week's PEPTalk!, I shared 7 questions that make those decisions easier. They work for paper, email, photos, notes, files, and just about any information that comes your way.

Here are three to try today:
Do I really need to keep this?
If so, in what format?
How will I find it when I need it?

That last one matters more than most people realize. Storage has never been easier. Retrieval is where most systems break down.

As Barbara Hemphill says, "If you don't know you have it, or you can't find it, it's of no value to you."

In this episode of PEPTalk!, Andrea Anderson shares 7 Questions that can help you make better decisions about the paper, files, emails, photos, notes, and documents that flow through your life every day.

Whether you're managing a household, a career, a business, retirement, or a combination of all three, organizing starts with making intentional decisions about information.

Many organizing challenges are not caused by a lack of storage. They stem from unanswered questions:
• Do I really need to keep this?
• In what format?
• For how long?
• Who is responsible for it?
• Who needs access?
• How will I find it?
• How is it backed up?

These questions, originally taught by Barbara Hemphill and expanded for today's digital world, provide a practical framework for organizing information so you can find what you need, when you need it.

In this episode, you'll learn:
• Why every piece of information creates responsibility
• How to make better decisions about paper and digital information
• Why retrieval is more important than storage
• The role of access, ownership, and backup in organizing
• How these questions apply to both personal and professional information
Hemphill's Principle:
"If don't know you have it, or you can't find it, it's of no value to you."

Join us as we explore the questions behind every organizing decision.
