REFUEL:
A proper diet is important to ensure you are giving your body what it needs to perform at its optimal level. During summer and holiday seasons we tend to indulge in foods that are not always good for our bodies. Keep in mind that what you put in is what you get out.
REST:
Sleep will have you recovering overnight and ensuring you have the energy to perform the next day. The best way to fall asleep is to read at night or meditate before bed. Avoid having any sugar or caffeine drinks past mid day. Turn off your digital devices and keep your cell phone out of your sleeping area. Keep your room as dark as possible when sleeping to allow the body to go into a deep sleep.
CHANGE:
Change up your athletic routine during your off season focus on skills and speed. This allows your brain to rest while still working on performance improvements. Camps and different training methods can support growth as an athlete. Keeping things engaging and interesting for you will keep you out of your comfort zone. Speed & agility are great skills to constantly work on and develop to be a well rounded athlete.
