When we have these factors in check, we tend to build our emotional STRENGTHS and resilience. Attending to these aspects of your life can help create balance.

Perfectionism is one of my favorite areas to work on with clients and procrastination is often a great place to start.
Perfectionists are some of the most effective procrastinators! They would rather avoid a task by flipping through Instagram & mindlessly checking emails, rather than attack a project that they worry they will not be able to perfect. How does a fear of messing up show up in your life?
Breaking things down into small tasks is a great first step to fighting the avoidance caused by perfectionism.
For example: “Clean my office” becomes:
1. File paperwork
2. Vacuum
3. Take out trash
4. Organize bookshelf
5. Reward self with a break

Oxytocin is related to some of humanity’s more admirable traits, such as love, loyalty, trustworthiness, courage, and empathy.
Oxytocin is influenced by positive social connection and trust. Ways to boost it:
1. Give someone in your family a long hug (dogs count)
2. Spend time with pets
3. Give a gift to someone
4. Make eye contact
5. Have meaningful, affectionate conversations with friends
6. Check your Vitamin C and Magnesium intake- both are necessary for Oxytocin to function properly
7. Soak in a hot tub (warmth is shown to be a factor in production)
