: Several FYLPRO alumni are participating at the 2026 Filipino Diaspora Summit on June 16 in the Philippines.

FYLPRO President Genevieve V. Jopanda is a panelist for Youth Panel. A 2022 FYLPRO delegate, Genevieve is a strategy and partnership executive with 25+ years leading high-impact initiatives across government, nonprofit, and international affairs.

FYLPRO 2017 delegate Tyler Dos Santos-Tam, is a panelist for the Political Panel. With Filipino roots come from Ilocos Norte and Cebu, he was elected to the Honolulu City Council in 2022, representing the Downtown Honolulu area.

: FYLPRO 2016 delegate Jhett Tolentino's film Asian Persuasion was screened at the ARTÉ Film Festival this past weekend in Livermore, California. FYLPRO board member and 2023 delegate Christine Melendres's Sweet Mango Therapy Group, Inc. was a community presenter for his film.

FYLPRO is proud to be a Community Presenter of the upcoming ARTÉ Film Festival, hosted by the Livermore Valley Arts Association.

The festival will feature incredible films by diasporic Filipino creatives, including FYLPRO 2016 delegate’s Jhett Tolentino’s Asian Persuasion.

: FYLPRO 2012 delegate Angela Lagdameo Cabellon has been appointed Deputy Secretary for Modernization at the Maryland Department of Labor. This new role reflects growth in the scale and complexity of the Department’s work. Most recently, she served as Chief of Staff to Howard County Executive Ball, where she oversaw strategic initiatives and community investment within a $3 billion budget, as well as data modernization and launching Howard County’s first public performance dashboard. She also previously served as Assistant Secretary of the Maryland Department of Human Services.
