Grandpa Has Been Adopted!
After everything he’s been through, Grandpa finally has the happy ending he deserves.
This sweet senior came to us needing extensive medical care, including a dental that resulted in the removal of all of his remaining teeth. With part of his lower jaw already missing and years of neglect behind him, life hadn’t been easy for this little guy. But through it all, Grandpa remained gentle, loving, and grateful for every bit of kindness shown to him.
Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Grandpa has found his forever home!
His new family saw beyond his age and medical needs and fell in love with the wonderful dog he is. Instead of spending his golden years wondering if anyone would choose him, Grandpa will be spending them surrounded by love, comfort, and all the soft beds his heart desires.
Thank you to everyone who donated, shared his story, cheered him on, and believed that senior dogs deserve a chance. Because of you, Grandpa’s next chapter is exactly what every dog deserves—a home.
Happy tails, Grandpa. We couldn’t be happier for you.

Welcome Weston to No Stray Left Behind
Weston has already been through so much, but his future is looking much brighter.
When he was found, Weston was severely underweight with his ribs and spine clearly visible. He was suffering from a serious skin infection caused by both bacteria and yeast, and his tummy was actually slimy from sitting in urine for an extended period of time. He was uncomfortable, itchy, and understandably not feeling his best.
At his veterinary exam on May 22, Weston weighed only 30 pounds—about 6 pounds underweight. Since then, he’s been gaining weight and improving steadily. His foster has been spoiling him with kibble mixed with wet food and a splash of chicken broth, which he absolutely loves!
Weston’s bloodwork showed mild regenerative anemia and low thyroid levels. Thankfully, his veterinarian believes both may improve as his skin condition continues to heal and his overall health improves.
A skin cytology confirmed bacterial and yeast infections. Weston received a long-acting antibiotic injection and medication to help relieve itching. Because of his IVDD, scratching himself is difficult, making it even more important to keep his skin comfortable and clean.
At his follow-up appointment on June 11, the good news was that the bacterial infection had resolved. The yeast infection is still hanging on, however, so his treatment continues with medicated baths once a week and medicated mousse between baths. While we are seeing some crusty areas reappear on his face, we’re staying on top of it and working closely with his veterinarian to get him feeling his very best.
Despite everything he’s endured, Weston remains a sweet boy who is finally receiving the care, comfort, and love he deserves. Please join us in welcoming Weston to the NSLB family and cheering him on as he continues his journey to recovery. ❤️🐾
