Are you bored this summer and needing something to do? If so, we have a wonderful opportunity for you that can help the dogs here at CHS, and keep you busy!

Because we are a no kill shelter, we have several dogs here that have spent 300+ days in a kennel, waiting for their forever home. Just like a person sitting in a jail cell, spending that much time locked up really starts to eat away at the mind. We try our very best to help these dogs as much as we can, but we only have so many employees, with only so much free time after cleaning, and very few volunteers. These dogs need out, even for just an hour, 2 hours, 1 day. They need to see that there is still more to life than just sitting in a kennel, anxious and stressed out.

We are asking for volunteers that would be willing to help us walk dogs, take them out into our play yards to run, or even better, take them out away from the shelter completely to go walk on a trail, get a pup cup, or just do something fun! This not only helps to boost their mental health, taking them out into the community, exposes them to potential adopters who get to see them at their best, instead of behind a kennel door.
