We've been waiting to talk about this one — the iFi iDSD GR 2 is live today, and it genuinely surprised us.
iFi didn't just iterate on the original GR. They went back to the drawing board — new DAC chipset (Burr-Brown PCM1795), a fully balanced architecture, capacitive touchscreen OLED, and aptX Lossless Bluetooth that delivers actual CD-quality audio wirelessly. Oh, and 50% more headphone drive for anyone running harder-to-drive planars or dynamics.
The K2HD harmonic restoration technology is the sleeper feature here. It adds back the warmth and nuance that digital recordings often strip away — and it's a noticeable difference.
