A dedicated physician leader, Bryant inspired our entire faculty as he carved out time for the rigorous HCI program as a platform for developing a new culture of coaching at UNC SOM. He has earned Level Two certification through HCI and applicant for ICF ACC at this time. When looking at Coaching programs, I was impressed with HCI and their approach to coach training geared specifically to healthcare. While the basic principles of coaching are applicable to any field, there are some nuances to coaching healthcare leaders, and this program focused on that need.

Coach training was extremely valuable to me also in my leadership journey. I learned more about myself during this process than I imagined I would. This knowledge will help me to be a much better coach to the clients that I will work with.

I am currently the director of the UNC School of Medicine Coaching Academy. This role has allowed me to work to change the culture of coaching at our institution. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that everyone in our organization who wants a coach can have access to one.

Coaching is a valuable leadership development tool that is underutilized. After coming through the recent pandemic and social justice issues, healthcare workers are tired, burned-out, and looking for ways to improve and grow. Coaching is a valuable tool that can help them.
