500 S. Jefferson Street- you were more than just a building. You were a home. You held the sound of little feet racing down hallways, the echo of giggles that filled the air, and the quiet moments of comfort when a small hand needed to be held.

You watched first days—tiny faces peeking out from behind a parent’s leg, mamas wiping tears as they let go for the very first time. You watched celebrations—graduations, milestones, and victories both big and small. You held space for the hard days, too—the days when families were hurting, when we were the steady place a child could come and feel safe.

You became a keeper of memories, a witness to joy, growth, and love in its purest form. For some children, you were the only constant in a world that didn’t always feel certain.

Tomorrow morning, we close these doors. But the memories… they will never leave. We say goodbye to the rooms that heard our laughter, the playground that saw scraped knees and fearless climbs, and the countless stories that began here. This was not a decision made lightly—it is one that carries both heartbreak and gratitude.

To our staff: We never imagined it ending this way. You poured your souls into these children, leaving fingerprints on their hearts that will last a lifetime. You gave them not just care, but love, stability, and joy. We are so proud of you and excited to see you shine wherever life takes you next.

To our families: You trusted us with your greatest treasures. You let us be part of your children’s worlds, part of their firsts, part of their growing-up years. We are so sorry that our time together was cut short, but we are forever grateful for the chapters we got to write in their stories.

Excel Academy was never just a school—it was a family. And while this is the end of our time within these walls, it is not the end of the love, the lessons, or the bonds we’ve built.

Our montessori class got to release the butterflies they’ve been caring for over the past few weeks. It’s been so fun watching their excitement as the caterpillars grew, formed chrysalises, and finally became butterflies.

Such a special way to learn about nature, growth, and letting go.
