πΏπͺ¨ CAMP PREP IN FULL SWING! πͺ¨πΏ
We are having the most incredible week of staff training at The Science Zone, and we are bursting with excitement for summer camps to start!
A massive, heartfelt thank you goes out to Dr. Terrence J. Logue, Maria Katherman, and one of our amazing board members, Sandy Leotta, for sharing their incredible expertise with our team.
Thanks to them, our staff spent a beautiful day hitting the trails for some mini hike spurts and diving deep into nature. We learned so much to bring back to our campers, including:
- Rock Science: Mastered the three different types of rocks (metamorphic, igneous, and sedimentary!).
- Trail Safety: Learning exactly how to spot poison ivy so we can keep everyone safe and itchy-free this summer.
- Wildflowers & Botany: Discovered how to identify all kinds of local wildflowers, broke down their different parts, and gathered a mountain of new info. We are officially plant identification pros now!
The team had an absolute blast, and we are now fully prepared and energized to lead our Plants & Botany 101 Summer Camp! π¬π±
