We rescue the forgotten. Rehab the broken. Match them with the humans who needed them just as much. My journey started early. With love and gratitude,

Piper would've been adopted already if I made her sound easier than she is. I'm not going to. She needs to be the only pet for someone who already understands dominance, structure, and follow-through. Piper still guards what she thinks is hers, so she can’t be around small kids.

I know there's someone out there who can take all of that and still want to adopt her. If that's you, apply at legacypawsrescue.org. 💛

Piper is up for adoption, but she’s not getting away that easy. Given her dealbreakers—no dog parks, no children, and no other pets—she needs someone who has the same routine every day. Because she already has hers down to the minute.

We’ve been waiting for the right match. If that sounds like you, apply at legacypawsrescue.org.

Some things were just meant to be. ❤️🐾

This past week, I got to babysit two very special boys...Eddie and Auggie.

And if you know their story, you know why that means so much.

When they were here at Legacy Paws, they found each other. Two dogs who needed understanding, patience, and a safe place to land became best friends.

They played together. They leaned on each other. They helped each other feel like the world wasn’t such a scary place anymore.

And now?

They aren’t just best friends.

They’re brothers. ❤️

Watching them run around together, seeing how comfortable and happy they are, and knowing they get to spend their lives side by side is exactly why we do this.

Rescue isn’t just about getting dogs out of a bad situation. It’s about truly seeing them, understanding who they are, and finding the place where they belong.

Sometimes that place comes with a family.

Sometimes it comes with a sibling who was there all along.

Eddie and Auggie are proof that the right match changes everything.

These are the moments that remind us why every hard day is worth it. 🐾

Thank you for continuing to believe in the dogs who need someone to see them.

Because every dog deserves the chance to find their people… and sometimes, their best friend too. ❤️

Not everyone's gonna swipe right on me. Good. I only need the right person to swipe.

I'm super confident, I bond hard, and I like having my person all to myself (so no kids and no other pets). I'll tell you that upfront so you don't find out the hard way. What you get in return: a dog who rides shotgun in the Jeep, hunts crawfish for sport (haven't caught any yet, but still going), and leans her whole weight on you every night like that's the deal we made.

I've been on here a while. Not because nobody's swiped. Because Legacy Paws won't match me with the wrong one just to close the profile.

Still waiting for my match. Only pet · experienced home · Apply at LegacyPawsRescue.org 💛

There’s a moment right before they reach me where I get to pretend they never left.

Watching them come down that trail toward me, I forget for a second that they have a new family now. For those few seconds it’s just us again.

Then they get to their new person and that’s who they run to. And some small selfish part of me wishes they’d have kept running toward me a little longer.

But I get this. I get to still be someone they come back for. Not their person anymore. More like their grandma now, and I’ve decided that’s its own kind of good.

Grateful every single time they walk down that trail. Even with my heart doing two things at once.

Dobby got adopted. 🎉

March 2nd, he showed up on a porch. 24 pounds, skin and bones, his ears and tail crusted from frostbite after a cold front rolled through. He came to us in an area known for dumping dogs.

His teeth told us the rest. Tartar caked on every single one. A contorted little body, stains running down his chest, a UTI. All the signs of a dog crated as a puppy and never let out. He survived by eating his own p**p. He didn't know what a toy was. The first time we handed him one, he just threw it around. He had no idea you were supposed to pick it up.

He was a brand-new puppy in a big dog's body. He had to learn how to be a dog and how to be around people, both from scratch.

And he did. This American blue nose Staffordshire terrier went from 24 pounds to 52. He more than doubled. His body stretched out. He still gets sore after a hard play session and still walks a little funny, and honestly, that's just Dobby now.

Here's the part that gets me. Kimberly and Philip weren't even looking for a dog. They'd just lost their 13-year-old pittie and have a five-year-old pit named Cricket at home. But Dobby came across Kimberly's feed, and she spent the next couple hours watching every video he had, sending them to family and friends.

She just fell in love.

She applied, and I almost missed it. Our website's been glitchy and I've been buried running this place solo. It took my creative director spotting her message for me to even see it. I wrote her back right away, and they were here within the hour, daughter in tow. She and Dobby connected instantly.

They planned to come back in a few days with Cricket, but they couldn't wait. They messaged me the next morning, came that day, and Cricket and Dobby hit it off beautifully. He went home with them that night.

I figured I'd get photos of Dobby and Cricket playing. Instead, every single one is Dobby and their little girl. Playing dress-up, cuddled up, covered in kisses. They're already inseparable.

The dog who started in a crate, eating to survive, now has a kid who can't put him down.

Dobby isn't waiting anymore. Dobby is home. 💛

He was crated his whole first year and dumped on the road at just 24 lbs… 😢 Today, he's more than doubled his weight and found a loving home with his new best friend! 🙌🐾 Dobby’s journey from starvation to snuggles shows why we rescue. 🏡❤️

Dobby needs a home, and he needs one now. 🐾

This boy has already been through more than any dog should. He spent his entire first year of life crammed into a crate too small for his body — so small it affected the way he developed. He stumbles when he walks. He can't roughhouse like other dogs. And then, after all of that, he was dumped on the side of the road.

That's when Legacy Paws found him. And from day one, despite everything, Dobby has been nothing but sweet.

Right now Dobby is recovering from his neuter and a limp that requires rest and calm. But he's at the rescue with other dogs, and the second he sees them he forgets all about resting — because all he wants to do is play and love on everyone around him. His body can't handle it, and it keeps setting him back.

He deserves better than crate rest with a heart full of love and nowhere to put it.

Dobby needs:
- A calm, quiet home (fewer or no dogs ideal)
- Patience and routine while he heals and learns
- Someone willing to work on basic training — this is the first time in his life he's had the chance to learn
- A person who sees his little stumble and loves him anyway

He gets along with every person and animal he has met. He is gentle and grateful and so, so ready to be someone's dog.

**Can you foster or adopt Dobby? Do you know someone who can?**

Please share this post — it costs nothing and could change everything for him.

Nobody told Kyra she has two titanium hips.

She didn’t get the memo. She’s too busy engineering her own ball launcher.

Bring it up the hill. Watch it roll. Chase it into the creek. Bring it up the hill. Repeat. Forever.

No human required. No permission asked. Full zoomies, self-managed.
We used to worry about overdoing it with her — she gets sore when we throw the ball too much. So she just… solved that. Figured out a pace she can sustain, a game she can run herself, and a hill that does the hard part for her.

Kyra is our resident Rottweiler and the heart of this sanctuary. When a new rescue arrives scared and uncertain, it’s Kyra who tells them — without a single word — that this place is safe. That I am safe. She’s been doing this job longer than anyone, on two titanium hips, and she shows up every single day like it’s an honor.

She’s not available for adoption. She’s already home. 🖤

I've been putting off writing this post.
Piper needs a home. And I genuinely don't want her to go.

She came to us as one of 11 dogs found in an abandoned house — 2 moms, 9 puppies, all wasting away. From day one Piper made it clear she was not going to be pushed around.

She is dominant. Complex. She takes time to trust. She needs deep tissue massage to regulate. She may need a few visits before she bonds with you.

And if you are the right match for her?
She will be the best dog you have ever had. I mean that with everything I have.

This is not for everyone. It's for the RIGHT person.
