MRC Tool Bucket Library

We're so glad that the Chehalis Timberland Library has the Gadget Library as part of its Timberland Library of Things. The Lewis County Master Recycler Composter Volunteers helped the library organize and launch the Gadget Library with the help of a grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology. Tool Time! Today's featured tool from the Lewis County Master Recycler Composter Volunteers' MRC Tool Bucket Library is a 45-foot Fish Tape Kit, which is used by electricians to route new wires through concealed, hard-to-reach spaces like wall cavities, ceilings, or enclosed electrical conduits. It acts as a guide; you push the flexible tape through the path, attach your cables to the end, and pull them back through. The Lewis County Master Recycler Composter Volunteers are planning a tool (and treasures) sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 24 and July 25 at the Floral Park Sustainability Project, 104 E. Floral St., Centralia. They are looking for donations of gently used tools and other treasures. Proceeds will help support the operation of the MRC Tool Bucket Library. If you have anything you'd like to part with, please call or email: 360-520-3206 or [email protected]. Or stop by the Floral Park Sustainability Project on Fridays between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Tool Time! In honor of World Chocolate Day, today's featured tool focuses on baking. It's two Wilton Performance Cake Pans. They are 8-inch rounds x 2-inches high. When using them, avoid metal utensils to prevent scratches. You can use wood or silicone utensils. Hand wash only in warm soapy water. This kit includes a brake bleeder tool and vacuum pump kit works on all vehicle makes and models. Tool Time! Today's featured tool from the Lewis County Master Recycler Composter Volunteers' MRC Tool Bucket Library is an In-Line Ignition Spark Checker. You can use this tool to check the condition of the ignition system at each cylinder. The spark tester connects between the spark plug and spark plug wire to troubleshoot dirty spark plug connections, defective points and bad cables or connections.
