Hello everyone!
If you or anyone you know is a student at the University of Illinois and has an interest in the empowerment of women and tackling social justice issues, then please apply to the YWCA Student Leadership Board by April 24th!
The YWCA has a rich history as one of the oldest organizations on campus (since 1873) and throughout the last 146 years the people at the YWCA have pushed for equity for all students at the University of Illinois.
For just a couple of examples of what the YWCA has done: By 1913 the YWCA established McKinley Hall as the first residence hall for women on campus. Today the YWCA at the University of Illinois focuses bringing awareness the vulnerabilities that incarcerated POC face as well as highlighting and honoring the female leaders of Champaign-Urbana.
The YWCA RSO seeks continue the YWCA’s mission by teaching people on campus the leadership skills that will help them thrive in their future careers and bringing awareness to the social and cultural issues that the members are passionate about year to year. We would love for you to join our team!
