Willow’s debut experimental pop/ neo soul album Ardipithecus (2015) was met with mystified reviews. The cohesion of it’s lyrics and melodies, though imaginative, is questionable. One can argue Willow (only 15 at the time of the album’s release) acknowledged her stumble into the music scene in the record title and artwork. The Ardipithecus was an early hominid, which she has poetically compared to her own evolution as a young artist “excavating her inner worlds.”

In 1999, American rock band Blink 182 gifted us E***a of the State. This crude, yet humorously relatable account of the young male experience reached instant global success, burning this image of it’s iconic covergirl into our hearts forever.
