This week: the unglamorous part that makes everything else possible.
While the speakeasy design looks beautiful on paper, bringing it to life requires serious logistics.
✓ Detailed floor plans — every table, light fixture, and power source mapped
✓ Vendor coordination — entertainment, bartenders, rental partners, venue staff all aligned on one timeline
✓ Service flow planning — bar capacity and guest movement designed to prevent bottlenecks
✓ Operational timelines — setup sequencing, vendor arrival windows, and production coordination
✓ Contingency planning — backup plans for equipment, weather, and staffing
This is the work guests never see—and the work that makes everything else feel seamless.
When someone says an event felt effortless, it's usually because of this phase: the planning that happens weeks before anyone walks through the door.
📌 Week 3: Planning & Logistics
Next week: opening night… if all this planning works the way it should. 🤞

Community events don’t just appear on a calendar.
They usually begin with a conversation.
Last year during an Activities Committee meeting, we were discussing how most community events naturally focus on families and kids.
That’s important — but adults need opportunities to connect too.
As we talked about refreshing the event lineup, I suggested exploring a speakeasy-style evening — something that could bring back a few elements residents had enjoyed in past casino and wine tasting events, but with a completely new atmosphere.
The idea resonated with the committee, and the concept for the Velvet Ridge Speakeasy was born.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing a behind-the-scenes look at how the event came to life — from concept → design → planning → ex*****on.
Would you attend a speakeasy-style event in your community?
On Saturday, Stone Ridge Association # came together to celebrate Lunar New Year and welcome the Year of the Fire Horse.
From vibrant performances to local vendors and smiling families, the energy in the room was powerful and joyful.
Grateful to create spaces where culture is honored and community grows.
