Morcom International, Inc. has proudly installed an advanced automatic weather station at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) in Suitland, Maryland!

The NSOF is NOAA's round-the-clock command center for environmental satellites—handling over 10 terabytes of data every day from more than 18 satellites. It manages satellite operations, launches, data processing, and plays a key role in accurate weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and protecting our environment.
Our installed system is the DB-Met Station from DualBase -a reliable, WMO- compliant weather station that's robust yet lightweight and easy to set up. In its base configuration, it continuously measures and records essential parameters:

• Air temperature and relative humidity
• Wind speed and direction
• Atmospheric pressure
• Global solar radiation

(And it can be expanded with additional sensors as needs evolve!)

• IP66 protection for all exposed parts
• Low maintenance design
• Durable anodized aluminum supports built for tough weather

Exciting Field Test Success!

Last week, our leadership team was at USCG Air Station Elizabeth City (NC) to conduct drop tests of our MTU-1175 Marking and Tracking Buoy (MOTT) from a U.S. Coast Guard MH-60 helicopter at different altitudes and speeds.

We're thrilled to share that the tests were a success! 🎯
The MOTT buoy operated flawlessly in both standard AIS (Automatic Identification System) and encrypted AIS, confirming its performance in demanding conditions.

From Rio to Washington—Morcom International, Inc. continued its spring tour at Sea-Air-Space 2025, held April 7–8 at the Ga***rd National Convention Center just outside the nation's capital.

We presented our MTU-1175 and MTU-1180 precision marking buoys, designed to support tactical tracking and recovery operations across maritime domains. These rugged, satellite-enabled units offer reliable, real-time positioning for tracking objects or personnel adrift at sea—key capabilities for Navy, Coast Guard, and other DoD maritime missions.

It was an outstanding opportunity to engage with U.S. and allied defense professionals committed to strengthening maritime domain awareness and operational readiness.
