Looks like Robert Youens and Steve Hernden have taken the shorter oceanside route. They are skirting the SC coast this morning as the sea state is being very cooperative. Their fuel efficiency has been phenomenal so they are curtailing the Georgetown stop and heading all the way to Southport, NC. There is a chance they could go all the way to Beaufort, NC if conditions and time and fuel allow for it. In short, they are making awesome headway today. Pedal to the metal guys! Stay on it!

The NHC has circled an area for a 20% chance. There is nothing there now and won't be for the next 2-3 days. This Saturday and into Sunday, we could see some slow development of low pressure in the northeast Gulf and eventually transfer into the Atlantic off the SE coast. We'll have to watch several factors such as dry air, upper shear and any type of circulation. For now, nothing to overly concerned about next 2-3 days.
