A little bit of whimsy and a touch of trippy space while always being a magical ride.

Tickled as can be with my first attempt at transferring with agar cultures. I transferred each culture to 2 agar plates and inoculated a quart jar with sterilized oat grains. I left a little of each in their petri dishes to inoculate the next batch of LC.

Don't laugh....but the first petri dish that I went to wrap with parafilm.....I busted it with my thumb 😂😂😂 wtf I didn't see that happening 🤣🤣🤣

I was a lot more careful with wrapping the plates and by the end, it was a lot smoother process.

Now to hurry up and wait 🥰

Took a peek at the plates that I had inoculated with LC and I think they look great. I also don't know what I'm looking at, but I'll learn 🤣

I spotted my first contaminated plate from what I ordered. So far, it may be the only one. If so, i don't think 1 out of the order is bad. Glad it was spotted before I used it!

I think another batch of LC is around the corner just to inoculate with the agar cultures. 🍄🥰

Thank you Crystal Lane King your culture plates have been fun to play with! I appreciate you! 🥰

Last night I added liquid culture to agar plates and then I added liquid Cultures to the first base solution of honey n H2O (50g per 1000ml).
Typically, you would test the LC on the agar to look for any contamination BEFORE inoculating the solutions. -- if there is contamination, you throw it all out. The only reason to inoculate a base solution is to allow the mycelium to grow and create more LC. In this way, you can potentially, only buy it once and then forever create your own.

The Lion's Mane strain: Sampson was the first on board and is now the first to spin this morning. I'm so very excited about learning all things Herecium!
