Five years ago, we took a leap and moved our family to Charleston.

Looking back, it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Zero regrets.

This week alone, the boys spent their days at what they lovingly call “shark tooth hunting camp” Coastal Expeditions Charleston — exploring remote islands, searching for fossils, kayaking alongside dolphins (a core memory for Weston), and even getting an up-close visit from Birds of Prey .

Then we wrapped up the week the Charleston way—with a stop at Pitt Street Pharmacy, Pitt Street Pharmacy where the kid-size ice cream cones are still the right price.

It’s the simple moments that remind me we made the right choice. We’re so grateful these boys get to grow up with adventures like this, surrounded by nature, curiosity, and a community that still feels a little like the good old days.

Officially on summer break and somehow I now have a first grader and a fourth grader.

This year brought so much growth, independence, new friendships, and memories we’ll never forget. The days can feel long, but the years really do fly.
