The Black History Soul Meet & Eat is almost here!

Featured Educator Alert!

Bernard King served in the U.S. Army for 10 years, where he did HVAC work. He was also a multifamily maintenance manager for almost 20 years, who managed and protected more than 5,000 apartment units. He is the owner of King Innovations Plus in which he repairs utilities, such as water heaters and air conditioners and does light plumping and electrical work.

Bernard previously served as the property manager but is now the community facilities committee chair for Community Action Group for Encouragement (C.A.G.E.), a non-profit organization that strives to improve the quality of life in the 7 Mile Community in Mount Pleasant, SC. He conducts monthly gardening lessons at the L.E.E.L. Non-Profit Youth Community Garden located at 2750 Bulrush Basket Lane, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466, behind Jennie Moore Elementary School on the C.A.G.E. site.

As a child who learned about composting from his father, Bernard will provide a For Us, By Us (FUBU) Moment of Gullah Geechee Education gardening lesson on composting (repurposing the earth) during the event.
