As you enjoy the sun and sand this summer, remember to keep your dogs safe:

🐕 Bring plenty of fresh water and a portable bowl
🌡️ Avoid the hottest part of the day to prevent heat exhaustion
🏖️ Provide shade for rest breaks
🐾 Watch out for hot sand that can burn sensitive paw pads
🌊 Keep an eye on strong currents and waves
🦀 Discourage your pup from eating unknown beach treasures, dead fish, or drinking salt water
🎾 Rinse off salt, sand, and debris after your beach adventure

Signs of heat stress include excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse. If you notice any of these signs, seek veterinary care immediately.

That means we’re starting to see more and more tiny, vulnerable kittens in our community—and we’ve already taken a few into our care. 💛

Please be extra cautious this time of year. Kittens often seek warmth and safety in unexpected places—especially inside car engines. Before starting your vehicle, take a moment to tap the hood or check underneath. That small step can save a life.

And if you’ve been thinking about adding a furry new member to your family, now is a perfect time! 🐱 We’d love to connect you with one of these sweet babies in need of a loving home.

As we wrap up the last day of April, we’re taking a moment to reflect on a month full of wagging tails, gentle purrs, and the privilege of caring for your beloved pets 🐾💙

From wellness visits to unexpected emergencies, every patient who came through our doors reminded us why we love what we do. And of course, we can’t forget our in-hospital cats—our unofficial supervisors, professional nap experts, and the heart of our clinic on even the busiest days 🐱👑
