“Believe in the fairies who make dreams come true, believe in the wonder, the stars, and the moon, believe in the magic from fairies above, they dance on the flowers and sing songs of Love.” ~Unknown 🧚‍♀️🍄💕

Apparently leprechauns are more an American Saint Patrick’s Day tradition than an Irish one. On St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland, they celebrate supernatural creatures or heroes from Irish myths like Cú Chulainn, and little girls dressed up as fairies. The Da Silva-Bernier household is all about magical creatures and all things ethereal and enchanting, so to honor Irish culture and tradition, here are two Brazilian woodland fairies mixing pixie dust and magic! 🧚‍♀️💕

Happy St. Patrick’s everyone from our two Brazilian fairies! 🇧🇷💕🇮🇪☘️🌈💰

I remember when I first came across the sacred, gorgeous, butterfly pea flower and blue lotus flower tea recipe, I had just ended a relationship with a narcissist and he wouldn’t take no for an answer.

Every day he would send me low vibrational energy from afar to hurt me. I would feel sharp pain, itchy, overheating, different aches and pains throughout the day for a long time afterwards, my nervous system was always under attack. My hair started thinning, I started gaining weight, I was stressed out all the time. Those were the darkest days of my life.

During that time, I kept hearing/seeing “butterfly pea flower” everywhere and I knew it was a sign. Sure enough, this flower is known as the “Blue Healer,” this flower is used in Ayurvedic medicine for disorders of the nervous system and brain.

Although that lesson was the worst pain of my life, I know it lead me to where I needed to be, it made me who I needed to be. It made me a strong woman who knew her worth and who wouldn’t put up with toxic love. I needed to shed that version of me, that sweet, innocent little girl who knew nothing of the darkness. I needed to be shown the darkness of the world and I needed to fight back so I could prove that I loved myself unconditionally and never again be a vibrational match to a narcissist.

Now, as a Mama of two little girls, this gorgeous flower has paid me a visit again, this time to remind me to remember to fill my cup before I fill others. A much needed reminder considering the conditioning we receive from the time we are little girls about what it means to be a “Good Wife” and a “Good Mother.”

When I first give birth to Zineia, whenever she would cry, I would pick her up, even when I should have been taking care of myself. I felt like a horrible mother if she was crying. Now I Love myself more. I love my girls fiercely, but I know they need a strong Mama, they need me to be the example of what a strong woman and mother truly is, loving and nurturing, but not at the expense of my own needs.

Has this tea ever helped you heal? Let me know in the comments! ☕️🦋✨

What better way to harness the powerful healing energy of plants than by handcrafting my own elderberry syrup! 🍯🫚🍊✨

The Ancient Magic of the Elder Tree 🌳🧚‍♀️

Steeped in ancient beliefs and cultural traditions, Elder has a powerful place in folklore. Throughout history, elder has been considered sacred in many European cultures, giving rise to various legends and tales.

According to legend, Elder is bound to the Celtic faerie lands. In English and Scandinavian folklore, within the branches of the Elder Tree dwell an ancient magic, and a dryad (tree nymph/spirit), who watches over it. If treated well, would bless and protect those who cared for it, and cursed those who did not.

In ancient times, Elder’s branches were used to make woodwind instruments, for hair dye, the berries have a rich tradition of use in wines, and both the berries and flowers are both commonly used to make syrups, jams, jellies, chutneys, and pies! 🥧

Aside from being one of the most powerful natural remedies for the common cold and flu, it is also known for being anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, soothing for burns, it supports healthy skin, strengthens bones, maintains blood sugar, and purifies and protects the liver, to name a few!

You can use the classic recipe or substitute additional herbs for added Vitamin C! Luc and I take 1 tablespoon daily, and we give our girls 1 teaspoon daily! Be sure to store it in the refrigerator! Drink it from the bottle (guilty), 😜 make elderberry popsicles, pour it over pancakes, make elderberry gummies, or mix it into your favorite smoothie, be creative! 🫙🍯🫚😋

* My recipe is in the comments!* 😋

How are you protecting your kiddos and loved ones this cold and flu season! Let me know in the comments! 🌿🍄🍯✨
