Today, we pause to remember the nine lives lost at Mother Emanuel AME Church on June 17, 2015, and to honor their lasting legacy.

The strength of the survivors, the grace shown in the aftermath of such a tragedy, and the resilience of the Charleston community continue to inspire us. May we always remember those we lost and carry forward their legacy through unity and compassion.

Thank you to everyone who spoke up and supported preservation, including BAR-S, the Preservation Society of Charleston, the Historic Charleston Foundation, Eastside residents, and everyone who engaged online. Your voices made a difference.

The Eastside has already lost too much historic housing over the years. Every home saved helps preserve the character, history, and story of our neighborhood.

Stay engaged. Your voice matters. πŸ’ͺ🏾🏘️
