Kinship Plot
We create stories, places, and beautiful schemes of rooted belonging. https://linktr.ee/KinshipPlot

Last night we joined neighbors, developers, housing advocates, nonprofit leaders, and city leaders at Government Center for a conversation hosted by Councilmember LaWana Mayfield’s team about how Charlotte should invest future Housing Trust Fund dollars.
The conversation wasn’t just about building more housing. It was about asking bigger questions: What kinds of homes are we missing? What helps people stay rooted? What does it take for people and communities to truly thrive? Those are the same questions we’re asking as we design Kinship Plot at The Grove.
Yes, we plan to build homes. But we’re also imagining places where neighbors know one another, fresh food is within reach, trees thrive, water runs clean, soil is healthy, and everyone has the opportunity to belong and flourish. Let’s get out of survival mode, shall we?
Now the City wants to hear from all of us.
Whether you’ve struggled to find affordable housing, worried about staying in your neighborhood, or simply care about Charlotte’s future, your perspective matters.
Take a few minutes to complete the survey, then share it with your neighbors, friends, church folks, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins—anyone who calls Charlotte home. Our collective responses will help shape how Charlotte invests in housing over the next several years.

The best housing policy isn’t written only by planners or developers. It’s shaped by the people who call Charlotte home.
